ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES

Are you facing difficulties with managing your anger? Do you find that you explode and get angry at the people you love and care for the most? Are you married to somebody who uses anger to get their way or just shut down conversations? Are you tired of dealing with your angry spouse?

People who are struggling with anger to get what they want, to express when they are frustrated, often have difficulty in emotional regulation. People use anger to get their way as it is the best way that they know how. Other people around them often do not know how to handle or set boundaries or to deal with them. When we have anger in a relationship or in a family, often there are issues around leverage, poor boundaries, poor communication and poor emotional regulation.

The individual who uses anger to get their way often has challenges around not knowing how to deal with when they can’t have what they want, have difficulty in setting boundaries or respecting other people’s boundaries.

The good news is anger management can be addressed through proper therapy and learning skills that address people’s thinking, beliefs and ideas. Anger within a couple is often a relationship issue in which both parties will need to learn new skills.

The angry person will need to learn better ways of self-soothing, emotional regulation, new and healthy ways to think about things, as well as finding better ways to express what they want, without using explosive anger.

The partner of the angry individual will also need to learn how to set boundaries to separate themselves and not make their emotional stability conditional on the other person getting healthy. Oftentimes, there are issues of leverage in the relationship that will need to be addressed and removed, so that anger is not an effective tool in the relationship.
